Wow – what a great and FUNNY video!

I am SO glad I went to all the trouble to “creatively” find a seat that is both lightweight,
and has rounded corners when I made this rope swing for my “Yankee” grandkids.

And I noticed Owie doing this a time or two during my annual “grandkid sitting
session” this summer. It is amazing that he is SO determined to continue swinging
    the seat out and around.

Gotta show this at his WEDDING for sure – Ha!

Oh, and a question: Is this somewhat how you said he “fussed at the waves” when you took the kids to the beach during your visit to Texas?

    Much Love – Grampy

I am glad you made the swing light weight as well!! Owen just goes and goes! You should see his face today. He has a bruise on his forehead, check and chin from climbing and falling off a chair. Addie said this morning he could be an actor in the good Samaritan story and play the guy on the side of the road who got beat up.
Yes, I would say the fussing is similar to the beach and his love hate relationship with the waves :)

    Dear Moore Family,

You don’t know me, but I find this video of Owen upsetting and not humorous at all. Why do you find humor in him hurting himself? True, his pain is not major, but it is disturbing that you would continue to allow him to subject himself to further injury and not put down the camera and comfort him. You probably think I’m over the top, but am I? Humor should not find delight in someone else’s pain, especially the pain of our most helpless and innocent children entrusted to us by God. This criticism is intended for your edification and given in the spirit of Christ’s love, not condemnation. “Suffer the little children to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of God”

    Love in Christ,

    Melody

    Melody,
Thanks for visiting by our family site and even taking the time to watch the video…it is great to make connections with people we don’t even know!
I wish you could spend an afternoon with our son, he is the cutest thing and a brute little guy and I assure you that this video is not showing him in pain. He is frustrated with this swing because it is not doing what he wants it to do.
The comment above about him having bruises on his face…those were not from this swing incident, he just constantly runs into things and gets back up and keeps going.
I don’t want to raise a child that is coddled when gets hurt and has his mommy or daddy always there to make sure he’s alright. At the same time I love my 4 children DEEPLY and wouldn’t let true harm come to them if I could stop it.
Again, I think you would understand him and our family if you could spend an afternoon hanging out with us. Thanks for your edification, I am passionately interested in my children and all children to constantly come unto Jesus and worship him all their lives…even when they get knocked down.

    Dear Brian,

I know that people who do not have children sometimes cannot discern between fussiness and true pain. Your Owen does seem a little tired and fussy. I am the mother of 5 and my first response was as your tagline states…”it will make you want to run to the rescue.” I still wonder why you didn’t. I can tell you a gentleman, who is not a Christian, viewed this video and was turned off by it. He directed my husband to this video and he showed it to me. Please be careful, you never know what impression others will get from it.
