Well it is four days after Christmas and the seventh day that I have had sick children in the house!! All three girls got sick around Christmas and have run fevers, coughed and generally not been themselves. This has put me stuck in the house trying to keep records of who took what meds at what time. There are moments when things are hard and then others when everything seems to be fine. One starts to wonder if health will ever return. Most of the crazy moments occur early in the morning when someone wakes up crying uncontrolably with a fever. So this afternoon I decided I wanted to watch the sunset! I needed a moment of reflection and a reason to get out. So at 4:15 I woke two girls from a nap got them all into their robes (they have lived in PJs for days!) and piled everyone into the car. We headed out to Chickies Rock a park outside a near city where we knew there was a look out. The drive was peaceful and I must say that is when the sun actually set, for by the time we got there the sun was gone and we were left with the beautifully colored sky to gaze at. It was perfect! We sat on the top of a hill on top of my jacket spread out on the ground. With the girls in PJs, robes and slippers
We had one blanket and snuggled together to stay warm. I really enjoyed sitting there watching the sky change colors, talking about what we saw and singing. I think I got my love for sun sets from my Mom. I can not even count the amount of times she and I would take a drive out in the country to watch the sun set and talk. So I enjoyed sharing this moment with my girls! Maybe the fresh air will help the girls return to their normally healthy selves. If not I may just pile them in the car again tomorrow and head out to Chickes so me and my chickies can take a moment to breathe in God’s beautiful creation and rest!
