Well good morning to you all, we had an exciting event happen yesterday
Addie scored her first goal in soccer. We were thrilled as was she seeing as she stood and smiled at us for some time afterwards. It has been great fun going to her games and watching her catch a vision for playing team sports.
Today she has the day off from school, and Brian is busy, so all girls are home and who knows what we will be up to. We have to treasure these all girl days now because if you have not heard we are having a ….. BOY!!!!! It was a great surprise to me and took me a little time to get my brain around. We have nicknamed him “Little Man” until he is born and his true name shall be revealed. Everyone in the family is super excited. As I kept saying “I’m in shock, I’m in shock” on the day of the ultra sound Emma kept saying “Mom, it is going to be ok”.
He looks good on the ultra sound and is developing as he should. We have already headed to the baby store to buy a few boy things since we have NONE! It was fun, with more to come I am sure.
While pondering this entire boy thing I decided to write out the ages of my kids every two years for now and until he turns 19. I wanted to get a feel for what life will be like. Who can share a room when and what life looks like for this boy with three older sisters. That night I questioned Brian about the ethics of decorating with athletic equipment because what if he does not like sports and turns out to be more of an outdoors man. From there I asked Brian “how do you teach a boy about the Bible anyway?” Brian just laughed at me told me “he is not an alien” and assured me we would figure his entire life out the next day
I am having fun pondering Little Man, it almost makes it feel like this is my first baby
I am sure there will be great adventures ahead.
Speaking of adventure, I must tell you what Ms. Adeline did this weekend that surprised her Mom and Dad! Brian was away at a College retreat, and since it was not far away the girls and I joined them Sat afternoon. While there Addie observed people riding an 800 foot zip line over the lake. She turned to us and said “I want to go down the zip line”. So we headed over to see if should could, not sure if she would go through with it. Well she and Brian got all harnessed up and headed to the top. Brian went first and once on the other side he and I stood watching her and cheering. She did not hesitate to long and then jumped
It was great and she loved it enough to go a second time. Others there took some pictures for us so we may be able to put some up another time.
